Serie A side Roma will not sell Greek centre back Kostas Manolas despite having received offers for the recently-arrived defender.

The Giallorossi are experiencing a difficult second half to their season and many reports are linking various players with moves away from the Italian capital. However, the 23-year-old has been a relative hit for his new team and is unlikely to leave.

According to Il Tempo, Roma have been approached by various outfits from abroad regarding the former Olympiacos player’s future but any potential deal has been flatly turned down as the club remains certain Manolas will develop into a talented defender.

The Greece international was brought in at the start of the current campaign to replace the Bayern Munich-bound Mehdi Benatia and play with established Leandro Castan at the heart of the Roma back line.

However, the Brazilian Castan has suffered with neurological problems for much of the year and Manolas has been forced to create a new defensive partnership alongside both Mapou Yanga-MBiwa or Davide Astori, with mixed results.
