Davide Santon InterInter fullback Davide Santon has been called up as a replacement for Torino’s Matteo Darmian in Antonio Conte’s Italy squad to face England on Tuesday night.

Darmian featured in the Azzurri’s 2-2 draw against Bulgaria on Saturday but picked up a booking, along with Ciro Immobile, ruling both out for Tuesday’s match against England at the Juventus Stadium.

Calciomercato.com reports that the 24-year-old Santon has come in for the Torino fullback and is likely to feature in the match.

Santon has enjoyed a successful return to Italian football after he rejoined Inter during the winter transfer window.

While the move was initially a loan, the Nerazzurri have already signed the player outright after he appeared in a sufficient number of games for Roberto Mancini’s side.
