Sassuolo have reportedly signed veteran defender Cesare Natali for the remainder of the season.

The Neroverdi have had to deal with a number of injury problems in their back line as of late, as they’ve been missing key players including Federico Peluso and Sime Vrsaljko in recent weeks, and they are now hoping that the 35-year-old can use his experience to help the strengthen the lacking defence.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb.com, Sassuolo have completed the signing of Natali on Tuesday, after he passed his medical, in a deal that is currently set to expire in June and are expected to make an official announcement of his arrival in a press conference on Thursday.

The central defender has had a lengthy career in the Serie A playing for several top teams including Fiorentina and Torino in the past, but had been without a club since leaving Bologna in June 2014.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s men will be facing Juventus next in Turin on March 9 and Natali could possibly make his Sassuolo debut as the visitors try to earn a result against the league leaders.
