Round 27 of the Serie A season saw Juventus grind out three points against Palermo thanks a piece of  Alvaro Morata magic.

The race for Champions League qualification began to get intense as Felipe Anderson inspired Lazio to another win, Fiorentina defeated AC Milan and Roma suffered their first home defeat of the season, losing to Sampdoria.

We go with a 4-1-3-2 formation for the Team of The Week with an eleven slightly top-heavy on offensive talent and perhaps lacking some defensive cover in midfield.

Felipe Anderson operates from a central position and Nicola Sansone and Paul-Jose M’Poku provide the ammunition from the flanks.

Do you agree with our choices? Feel free to leave a comment if you feel we have overlooked anybody.

Luigi Sepe – Empoli (2 Team of The Week appearances)

The on loan Napoli keeper made several crucial saves and clearances with his feet as Cagliari dominated for large periods in their Saturday evening clash. Those interventions eventually proved crucial as his side claimed a dramatic late equalizer.

Antonio Balzano – Cagliari

The fullback was excellent when venturing forward and able to make several recovery tackles due to his pace. Showed good awareness to cover his centre backs when required.

Andrea Barzagli – Juventus

The Italian was making his return following a long injury lay off and played as if he had never been away. Kept the dangerous Paulo Dybala under close observation and ensured the young starlet was unable to have any telling impact on the game.

Team of the Week 27Danilo – Udinese (3 apps)

The Brazilian played with confidence and composure at the heart of the Udinese defence. Headed away numerous crosses and used the ball well when in possession.

Marcello Gazzola – Sassuolo

Deal with the sporadic Parma attacks with ease and contributed to his side’s offensive moves by distributing the ball well from the back.

Nicola Sansone – Sassuolo (2 apps)

The tricky winger took the game away from the Parma almost single-handedly, scoring two goals and causing the opposing defence all kinds of problems. His first goal from close range was perhaps marginally offside but there was no doubt about the second, a stinging long-range effort from the edge of the box.

Emil Hallfredsson – Verona

The 30-year-old was crucial in helping his side win the midfield battle against the more vaunted Napoli counterparts. He added the seal to an already impressive display when his run and dribble ended in a perfect assist for Luca Toni to net from. It was his fourth assist in his last five games.

Felipe Anderson – Lazio (6 apps)

Coach Stefano Pioli said the Brazilian could become unstoppable in the future and it’s hard not to disagree on current form. The former Santos man decided the match against Torino with a quick fire brace, the first of which saw him dribbling past three Torino defenders before finishing calmly.

Paul-Jose M’Poku – Cagliari

The young Belgian was excellent playing up front first in a wide role and then drifting into a central position. He linked up intelligently with his team mates, rarely wasting the ball and was always a threat on the counter with his speed.

Alvaro Morata – Juventus (3 apps)

The Spaniard came on for the last half an hour and lit up the match against Palermo with a fine individual strike, curling a long-range shot past Sorrentino. The former Real Madrid man also went close to adding to his tally on a couple of other occasions.

Alberto Paloschi – Chievo

The former AC Milan youngster came up with one of his best performances of the season against Genoa. He led the line expertly, linked up intelligently with his midfielders and found the back of the net twice.
