Present of the Italian Players’ Association Damiano Tommasi has stated that it is going to be tough for the Parma players to focus on playing in the midst of the club’s financial crisis.
The players refused to travel to face Genoa last week due to what they claim to be a lack of interest from authorities, but Tommasi was able to convince them to take the field in the coming game against Atalanta on Sunday.
“The meeting [with the players] wasn’t satisfying,” he said. “However, the boys have decided to take the field. They were compact in their decision.
“Of course it will be very difficult to focus on playing due to the club’s financial troubles.”
Lega Serie A decided to intervene in order help the club see off the season without facing disqualification, and the ex-Roma midfielder gave his opinion on the decision.
“It is a great decision by Lega Serie A to help Parma,” he said.
