Danny De Silva is pleased that Italian side Roma pursued him and secured his signature from Perth Glory.

The Australian youngster, who turns 18 this week, is one of the brightest talents in the A League and will join the Giallorossi in July.

“Roma was the club that took action in trying to get me, they were serious about me and that convinced me that I wanted to

“Obviously, there was a lot of thinking about what to do and trying to make the right decision.

“But I prayed about it and spoke to my family, in the end I was really happy with the choice and I think I’ll really enjoy my time there.

“I know I’ve still got a long way to go in terms of my footballing career but I am confident that I will improve at Roma.

“When I go to Roma it will be difficult, I may be in awe of some of the players, especially Francesco Totti.”

The fee for De Silva is an estimated €1.74 million, which is an A League record.
