Vicenza could be set to redevelop the Stadio Romeo Menti after unveiling ambitious expansion plans with new commercial and academic facilities.

The in-form Biancorossi have won their last six Serie B matches and are working towards having a stadium suitable for Serie A.

The Corriere del Veneto reports that the architects behind the plans, Luca Limongelli and Marco De Marchi, are looking to secure a loan of €20 million at a subsidized rate for the renovation of the stadium and construction of new facilities.

The architects are proposing to demolish and rebuild much of the Menti in the same place and to also extend the stadium creating spaces for shops and bars.

The expansion would also create classrooms and laboratories with the aim of making Vicenza the future centre for studying mechatronics.

The proposal ‘Campus Menti’ has been submitted to the mayor of Vicenza, Achille Variati.

Here are images of the proposal below.
