Inter take on the in-form Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena on Thursday night for a place in the final eight of the Europa League.

The Germans will be full of confidence following their 2-0 aggregate win over Sporting Clube de Portugal in the last round, whereas the Nerazzurri stumbled over the line to beat Celtic 4-3.

The two teams have never faced each other before, but Wolfsburg have come up against the Nerazzurri’s rivals AC Milan three times, losing twice and drawing the other.

That means that they have not yet been successful in a match against Italian opposition in three attempts with AC Milan the only Italian team pitted against them.

The last time Inter played a German side in European competition was when they lost 7-3 on aggregate to Schalke in the 2010/11 season. While the Nerazzurri last reached this stage of the tournament two years ago they were beaten on away goals by Tottenham Hotspur after a 4-4 aggregate result.

Die Wolfe have also only lost one game at home all season which was at the hands of Everton 2-0 in the Europa League group stage.

Inter have lost four games away this season in Serie A, whilst they boast an unbeaten campaign in the Europa League, winning six and drawing four.

Inter coach Roberto Mancini has a full squad to choose from with Yuto Nagatomo being the only player out with an injury.

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking may have a few more selection problems as he is without Aaron Hunt (knee) and two other players are doubtful also.

It is remained to be seen whether Ivan Perisic (groin) and Max Arnold (back) will be risked for the tie.
