AC Milan continue to be linked with an injection of foreign investment as Mexican Carlos Slim, one of the worlds wealthiest individuals, has become the latest name to be credited with an interest in taking control of the Rossoneri.

Silvio Berlusconi’s ownership of the Italian giants continues to be placed in doubt with businessmen from both China and Thailand having recently been associated with trying to purchase Milan from the 78-year-old.

QS reports that Slim has now joined the list of potential investors with the telecommunications mogul understood to have inquired about purchasing a substantial amount of shares in the club which has struggled with financial constraints in recent years.

Slim, who has an estimated personal fortune of €62.5 billion, was recently listed as the world’s second richest person behind Bill Gates. The 75-year-old had previously held the title.
