zaza italyItaly striker Simone Zaza conceded that he was not happy with his performance in Italy’s 2-2 draw with Bulgaria on Saturday night.

The Sassuolo forward was substituted after 58 minutes and replaced by debutant and goalscorer Eder, and the 23-year-old admits he was not at his best on the night.

“I’m not satisfied with my performance and the result. We have complicated life for ourselves, we struggled when they took the lead,” he told Rai after the match.

The striker also took the time to defend the under fire Italy attack, stating it was normal for forwards to miss some chances while remaining confident that things will turn around.

“At this moment I’m lacking goals but it is normal that I will miss some chances. I’m still growing and developing. I always try to play well.”

Italy’s next game is a friendly against England on Tuesday at the Juventus Stadium.
