AC Milan initiate plans to vacate stadium

AC Milan are reportedly set to leave the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and hand over operations to crosstown rivals, Inter.

AC Milan have been at the San Siro during the entirity of their 89-year exisitence. Inter moved in for the 1947 season and never left since.

According to La Repubblica, Barbara Berlusconi will be meeting in the coming days with Inter president Erick Thohir and the mayor of Milan Giuliano Pisapia to discuss AC Milan’s intentions of leaving the San Siro.

It is reported that AC Milan will share operations for the next four seasons, while they secure a site and begin construction on a new stadium that they will be the sole tenant of.
