AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong would reportedly favour a move to Manchester United over his other pursuers if he decides to leave the Diavolo this summer.

The 30-year-old will be out of a deal with the Rossoneri in June and has been heavily linked with an exit from the San Siro outfit throughout the season, with both the Red Devils and Juventus seen as the two clubs most interested in signing him, though he may already be leaning toward a move back to England.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Dutch international may be ready to make his departure from Milan due to the team’s inconsistencies since the start of the campaign and will apparently choose Manchester United over the Bianconeri based on his history with coach Louis van Gaal.

Some reports also suggest, however, that the defensive midfielder might not be so quick to sign with the Old Trafford outfit based on his previous stint at Manchester City, where he played from 2009-12 before joining the Diavolo.

De Jong has scored three goals in his 21 Serie A appearances this term thus far.
