Former Inter and AC Milan forward Aldo Serena provided his take on Sunday’s upcoming Derby della Madonnia in Serie A.

The 54 year-old, who played for Inter on four separate occasions and AC Milan twice in his career, sat down in a long interview to discuss to upcoming derby and break down the tactics.

“I would not adopt the three-man defense against the trident of AC Milan. Inter does not have good [enough] defenders and when playing three at the back you would lose a man in midfield,” said Serena to Tuttosport.

“[Fredy] Guarin and [Marcelo] Brozovic, albeit with their ups and downs, are important losses because without them Inter are deprived of certain tactics.

“[Mattia] Destro or [Jeremy] Menez? Destro will only have two practices, I’d look to Menez: AC Milan have played their best matches with the French striker.

“What will Mancini and Inzaghi need to do to win the derby? Inter will need to have a balanced game, playing as many balls as possible in the area for [Mauro] Icardi.

“AC Milan, however, will have to take advantage of their quality in close spaces and show their speed.”
