Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez spoke after his team’s 2-2 draw to Empoli on Sunday, and expressed his happiness at having scored.
Gomez scored Atalanta’s first equalizer, canceling out Riccardo Saponara’s opening goal, to help his team secure a draw at home.
“Today was a very difficult match,” Gomez said to Sky Sport Italia.
“I am pleased with my goal but especially because it helped the team get the draw.
“Next we play against Cesena, and only after then will we be able to truly rate our recent efforts.”
Atalanta travel to Cesena in midweek, and look to further distance 17th-placed Cesena over whom they already have eight points.
