Bologna striker Daniele Cacia has been suspended for one game after an FIGC Tribunal deemed it that he acted in an unsporting manner during an argument with his agent Gianluca Fiorini on the messaging service Whatsapp.

The case relates to messages sent in September 2014 and Bologna will have to pay a €6,000 fine as well as being without Cacia for their next fixture against Bresica, while the player himself will also receive a fine of the same amount.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, both Cacia and Fiorini have been sanctioned for breaching Article 1 of the sporting code of justice which declares that all those working in sport must behave in a manner that respects the principles of loyalty, fairness and integrity at all times in issues related to sporting activity.

The agent has had his licence suspended for one month for the messages send to Cacia who claimed that he had only used insulting language in response to Fiorini’s provocations.

Cacia was convicted for using threatening and insult language directed at Fiorini.

“You are a small man who seeks glory in a world that you are not part of,” said Cacia on Whatsapp accruing to the FIGC’s transcripts as they identified the most serious breaches of the code of conduct.

“If you keep talking, I know where to find you and I’ll massacre you.

“Be careful and don’t play with fire, it will burn you.

“Darling, perhaps you do not understand what situation you have put yourself in, a prick like yourself, but remember, I am Calabrian and Calabrians do not forget.”

Fiorini himself was punished for responding with improper comments of his own.

“In a bit Bologna will ask for you to give back the money you earn from them.”

“You and [Robert] Acquafresca don’t deserve to be on such small salaries from Bologna.

“No wait, you earn too much and you will now see that they will ask for their money back.

“In a month they’ll cancel your contract and you’ll have to go and work if you want to support your daughter.”
