Real Madrid ambassador Emilio Butragueno is sure that the Champions League semi-final against Juventus will be the tough fight right till the finish.

The Los Blancos reached the semi-finals of the Champions League following a 1-0 over local rivals Atletico Madrid while Juventus also edged French opposition Monaco 1-0.

“We are happy to be here in the semi-final,” said the 51-year-old just after the draw had taken place in Nyon.

“We will face Juventus and it’s nice that they are still here amongst us.”

The Old Lady have not reached this stage of the competition ever since the 2002-2003 season, where they lost in the finals to AC Milan on penalties.

“It will be an even match as they are a team who have returned to a high level of competitiveness and will make us work a lot.”

Madrid were missing a number of key players such as Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Marcelo for the second leg against the Los Colchoneros and Butragueno hopes that they recover in time for this crucial semifinal.

“We hope our injured players recover before the game.” he concluded.

The first leg is to be played on May 6 at the Juventus Stadium with the return leg scheduled on May 12 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
