Cagliari veteran Daniele Conti is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
The 36-year-old Italian is considered an icon at the club, having racked up 423 appearances for the club ever since moving from Roma back in 1999.
Gazzetta TV report that both the club and the player have agreed to part ways at the end of the season, and end their association mutually and on good terms.
It is reported that Conti is weighing up two options: to either sign for a club overseas or to hang up the boots permanently.
Signing for another Italian club is said to be out of the question, given Conti’s strong ties with the Sardinian club.
Conti has been used more sparsely this campaign, making 16 appearances so far.
