Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva confidently spoke about his side claiming an automatic Champions League spot, after a resounding 4-0 victory over now relegated Parma at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.

Three first half goals by Marco Parolo, Miroslav Klose and Candreva sent the Biancocelesti in with a 3-0 lead at the break, and the victory was complete with a late strike by substitute Balde Diao Keita.

“We had to start the match with a lot of intensity, and we did that as we knew we could not afford a slip up,” Candreva told Sky Sport Italia after the game.

“Parma have been in good form lately so we are delighted with this result and performance.

“We are having fun at the moment and playing with a lot of enthusiasm and deserve to be near the  top of the standings.”

20-year-old forward Keita got his first Serie A goal of the season after coming off the bench and Candreva had encouraging words for the young star.

“Keita has pure talent, he is so strong and has so much quality,” he continued.

“He deserved his goal tonight and he must continue to work hard every day.”
