Chievo coach Rolando Maran has praised his striker Sergio Pellissier after he netted the winner against Cesena on Sunday afternoon.
The tactician labelled the team captain as an example for his team-mates as he scored in the 83rd minute after being introduced off the bench.
“We are close to safety, we have grown a lot since I came here. The boys deserve the credit as they’ve worked hard all week,” Maran told Sky Sport Italia.
“We can be proactive and dangerous, risking little on defence. These are the ingredients to achieve safety as quickly as possible.”
Maran then went on to speak about Pellissier and the impact he has on his side.
“He is a gift and he gave us a gift. He is an example to all of his team-mates on and off the field.”
