Chievo captain Sergio Pellissier was pleased with his performance in his side’s win at Cesena on Sunday in Serie A.
Pellissier scored the only goal of the game in the 83rd minute to help Chievo beat Cesena 1-0 at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi.
“I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a goal, and I did it with the winner today,” he told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
“I am really happy. We turned the day as an happy one for our fans and president.
“We have grown better, and we should continue to win games.”
The 36-year old was also delighted as he overtook Marco Van Basten and Gianfranco Zola in Serie A scoring chart.
“It’s an honor to have scored more Serie A goals than Marco Van Basten and Zola. Obviously, they played fewer games than me, but overtaking the legends is an achievement.”
