Sassuolo boss Eusebio Di Francesco has revealed that his team will push themselves to do better in their upcoming clash with Roma in order to make up for their lacking performance against Hellas Verona.

The Neroverdi will play host to the Giallorossi on Wednesday and the tactician hopes to see his men play with a new attitude following their recent 3-2 loss to the Mastini on Sunday, though he understands that the Lupi will be a tough opponent to handle despite their struggles as of late.

Di Francesco spoke during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday about the improvements Sassuolo must make in order to finish the season on a high note and commented on the talent possessed by Roma.

“There is a chance that we can play our game from the start and show that we’re not the same team that lost to Hellas Verona,” said the 45-year-old.

“I want the team to keep growing with the right mentality while giving attention to the right things.

“This is something I’ve been trying to do for quite some time, but we’ve still been delivering some good performances and some poor ones.

“It’s hard to find tactical solutions, but this doesn’t justify the ultimate performance. I want our attacking players to also pay attention to defence.

“Roma? They are very good at handling the ball, maybe it has been harder for them to find the goal in 2015, but they have great quality in the attack and players usually fail to close the distance.

“We have been too inconsistent in the second half of the season, we had been able to deliver a number of good performances to get us in a good position in the standings but now we have been lacking.

“It’s a shame because we have the potential to do much better.”
