Roberto Donadoni spoke ahead of Sunday’s Serie A game against Empoli, stating that Parma’s goal is to not finish last.

Parma have been rooted to the bottom of Serie A for much of the season, following their poor form as well as the financial crisis they fell prey to.

The Ducali now travel to Empoli for their third game in a week, with Donadoni hoping that the physical exertions don’t hinder his team.

“Empoli are a team that by all accounts are having a very good season,” Donadoni said in his pre-match press conference.

“The game tomorrow will not be easy and I hope the group has recovered well given that we have played a lot recently.

“We will need to have recovered well from a tough game against Juventus and a very physical one against Genoa; the game against Empoli will require us to be very attentive.

“The objective we have fixed ourselves for now is to not finish last, and we feel we can achieve this.”

Parma are 20th in Serie A and on 12 points after their most recent four-point deduction.
