Despite having their fate already sealed, Parma coach Roberto Donadoni was delighted with his side’s victory over Palermo on Sunday afternoon.

Antonio Nocerino’s first half penalty sealed all three points for the already relegated Ducali, and Donadoni was full of praise for his squad.

“We may be last in the standings but the boys are out there playing for pride and I am so proud of them,” Donadoni told Rai Sport.

“We got three points against a team who have players who are being looked by lots of big clubs.

“We still want to improve our points total between now and the end of the season and we will continue to fight until the end of the season.”

Donadoni was critical of the situation the club finds itself in however, with players and staff having not been paid since last June.

“You have to wonder why and how we have got to this point,” Donadoni said.

“Players are human beings, not machines. They have feelings and personal situations that all this is effecting. But we must continue to be positive and look positively towards the future.”
