Empoli coach Maurizio Sarri has been one of the season’s biggest revelations and may soon find himself at the helm of a big European club.
The 56-year-old, often cited by his colleagues as the most positive aspect of the Tuscan outfit, has also brought about a style of football that is not usually seen at the smaller teams and his stock has risen considerably since achieving promotion from Serie B last season.
“I’m not sure whether what I’m doing here I’d be able to do at a bigger club,” said Sarri to RaiSport.
“That would be down to them to decide. But I’m happy here and I have the chance to express my kind of football at Empoli.”
He also revealed that a chance to coach abroad is also a dream of his. “I’d happily take a job in the English Premier League,” he said, showing his admiration for one of Europe’s most important leagues.
