Juventus v Malmo - Evra runsJuventus defender Patrice Evra believes that people overlook the quality of Italian football, following the Bianconeri’s progression to the Champions League semi-final.

The Frenchman spoke in the aftermath of the match which saw Juventus secure their final four status with a scoreless draw away to Monaco at the Stade Louis II on Wednesday evening.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the game, Evra spoke on the differences between the game in Italy and in other countries.

“Many people mistake the level of Italian football,” he began.

“It is different here, there is a completely different philosophy, there is more emphasis on being mentally prepared for games.”

He went on to reveal that he had a difficult time adapting, but now feels comfortable playing in Serie A.

“For me, moving here was a shock, but I never made excuses and with intelligence I adapted,” he said.

“It is not easy to play in Italy.”

Evra has had a successful first campaign in Italy, and looks set to win the Scudetto in his debut season, as well as preparing for a Coppa Italia final and a Champions League semi-final.
