Fiorentina are positioning themselves for a move on Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet in the upcoming transfer window.
The 28-year old has so far enjoyed a superb season at Marseille under coach Marcelo Bielsa, scoring six goals and grabbing 14 assists in Ligue 1, and has recently been called up to the French national team.
Reports from Estadio Deportivo suggest several European clubs are closely following the player, one of which is Fiorentina.
With La Viola already looking for cover in midfield with David Pizarro, Andrea Lazzari and Alberto Aquilani all out of contract in the summer, Fiorentina are thought to be eyeing Payet as a replacement.
However, they would have to face competition from German heavyweights Wolfsburg and even Sevilla, should they try to lure Payet to Tuscany.
Payet, who is currently into his second season at Marseille is estimated to have a price tag of around €15 million.
