Fiorentina to reward striker with new deal

Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar is reportedly expected to sign a contact extension with La Viola within the coming weeks.

The 22-year-old who has been at the club since 2008 has a contract currently set to run out in 2016. Finally proving himself to be a powerful force in Vincenzo Montella’s side, after spending several seasons out on loan, Fiorentina have made his renewal a priority with numerous clubs sizing him up.

According to reports from La Nazione, the Senegalese youngster is eager to put pen to paper so long as he is allowed time to play with continuity in order to grow, though it is suggested the player doesn’t demand an immediate fixed place in the team.

Reports also suggest that Fiorentina are willing to offer Babacar €1.5 million per season which is almost quadruple his current wage, additionally including a release clause of no less than €30 million.

Babacar, who was brought through the club’s youth system, has scored seven goals and provided two assists in Serie A thus far.
