Current Bayer Leverkusen defender, Giulio Donati, is set to leave the Bundesliga after failing to become a regular starter for the German club.

The ex-Inter full back, who failed to make a single league appearance for the Nerazzurri in four years, moved to Leverkusen in 2013 after a series of loan deals in Serie A.

However, despite an impressive first year where he featured 24 times domestically and played throughout the club’s Champions League campaign, in the second half of this season Donati has only had 45 minutes of football.

According to Kicker magazine, this lack of playing time will see the former Lecce man leave the outfit at the end of the current campaign.

Donati, though never having been picked for the Italian national senior team, has collected 26 caps at Under-21 level.
