Marco Verratti - Paris Saint-GermainMarco Verratti’s agent has sprung to the defence of the diminutive midfielder, suggesting that the Italian national team does not deserve the talents of the current Paris Saint-Germain play maker.

Verratti has been a regular for his club side and is highly regarded by French football but his meager 12 appearances for the Azzurri have left many followers perplexed.

A headline in l’Equipe mirrored the statement made by the ex-Pescara player’s representative Mino Raiola, suggesting that Italy has been very disrespectful of his client in not giving him more opportunities.

“Things are a bit tricky right now with the Italian national team,” Raiola told the French publication. “It’s very difficult and Italy does not deserve Marco.”

Verratti moved to Paris in 2012 after four incredible seasons with Pescara where he helped his side achieve  promotion from Serie B.  However, he was snapped up by the French giants before having stepped out onto a Serie A field, signing a five year deal with PSG.
