AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is showing faith in his head coach, Filippo Inzaghi, and has admitted that the beleaguered coach has the support of the club.

Inzaghi has endured a difficult debut season in professional management with the Rossoneri first team as the team lie in ninth place, some seven points adrift of Europa League qualification, but Galliani revealed that Inzaghi was doing a good job.

“Inzaghi is doing well this season,” Galliani said at an sponsors event.

“Without all the injuries we would be in a different position.

“The club and the president believe in him, he can sleep soundly.

“Good results have certainly helped [recently], the locker room is with Inzaghi.

“Few remember that when we beat Napoli, we were close to them in the table.

“Unfortunately from January onwards, we were decimated by injuries which is not the coach’s fault.

“Pippo was a great player and is a great coach.”

Galliani also addressed the upcoming Derby della Madonnina against Inter.

“The derby is important for Milan, but the three points are more important.”
