Rudi Garcia feels that his Roma side merited a draw against Inter as they played well at times and urged his players not to lose confidence.

Mauro Icardi’s late strike condemned the Giallorossi to a damaging defeat in their quest to finish second in Serie A and Garcia believes that a draw was the right result for the game.

“A draw would have been the logical outcome, but at this level games are lost in short moments,” the Frenchman told Sky Sport Italia.

“We played the Roma way in the second half, we pushed to win the game and conceded the knock-out goal.

“We showed spirit and the will to win, there is nothing to say to the lads, it was a good game, but we have to lift ourselves up because we play again in four day’s time.

“You have to be confident both upfront and in defence, the team displayed a good attitude and both the goals we conceded were due to Inter being strong.

“The forwards should not lose faith, the problem tonight was the supply from behind. There were several errors from both the keeper and the defence, the attackers did well.”
