Cagliari striker Duje Cop has thanked his coach Gianluca Festa for the opportunity to make his mark in the Isolani’s game at Fiorentina.
The Croatian forward rewarded Festa’s faith in him by scoring two of the side’s three goals as Cagliari ran out 3-1 winners.
“I have been able to make the most of the opportunity,” he admitted to reporters at the end of the game, “with the confidence given to me by the coach.”
“Fiorentina may have been tired after their Europa League game on Thursday, but they remain a strong team with great individuals.
“If we won, it was because we deserved the three points.”
Cop was making only his fourth start for the Rossoblu but marked it with the opening goal after just seven minutes, before grabbing another in the second half.
