An emotional Massimo Gobbi spoke with great pride about his side’s achievement after they handed champions Juventus only their second loss of the season.
In the absence of Alessandro Lucarelli, he captained the side and was one of their star performers as they stunned the Bianconeri – although it still leaves them 10 points adrift of the safety places.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia afterwards, he enthused: “Only football can give you stories like this, it is incredible!
“We are so happy and I am so proud of us as a team. We never gave up and this is a victory that gives us the greatest satisfaction. I have enormous pride at being the captain of this team.
“We do not think of the standings but we only take satisfaction away from this. After some difficult months, we are calmer now and are thinking only of what to do on the field.”
He added: “After the failings, we have banded together even more. We hit the bottom but are remaining professional and training hard.”
