Inter defender and captain Andrea Ranocchia is close to penning a contract renewal with the Serie A club.
The 27-year-old’s current deal runs out in June, which means he is free to speak with other teams about a switch elsewhere if he so desires.
However, Tutto Mercato Web state that a verbal agreement on a renewal with the Nerazzurri was in fact settled upon last Summer, with negotiations restarted within recent weeks in order to put the final touches to the extension.
It appears an announcement is imminent on a commitment that will ensure the centre-back remains beyond the four years already spent at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza since moving from Genoa.
The Italian international has made 31 appearances in all competitions for Inter so far this season.
