According to reports, Mario Balotelli could be set for a return to Italy from Liverpool this summer, and be reunited once more with coach Roberto Mancini at Inter.

Moving to the Merseyside club last August from AC Milan, the 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Anfield and looks likely to continue his yo-yoing between the Premier League and Serie A.

However, while some at Liverpool would like to see the problematic frontman depart for good, the Daily Mirror are suggesting that the Nerazzurri are only willing to discuss a loan deal.

That could be due to the fact that the Daily Mail believe that the Milan-based club are also considering a move for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.

With Inter looking set to miss out on European football next season, president Erick Thohir is reported to be looking for a higher calibre of player to supplement the Nerazzurri squad for the next term.
