Mauro Icardi’s future with Inter may be decided within a week as the Argentine hit man and the Nerazzurri resume negotiations aimed at extending the 22-year-old striker’s stay at the San Siro.

The controversial striker has netted 16 goals in 28 Serie A appearances this season, thus reportedly attracting the interest of several clubs including Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Abian Morano, one of Icardi’s agents, is in Italy to discuss the economic details of extending Icardi’s deal, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Reports indicate Inter are offering a contract worth €2.5 million a year through 2019 with an additional bonus of €800,000 while Icardi is  requesting a salary of €3 million a year with a €30 million buyout clause.

While the Nerazzurri are keen to keep Icardi, the club is struggling to accept the clause and the item is set to be thoroughly discussed next week after Sunday night’s Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.
