Inter defender Juan Jesus admits that the club are going through a ‘difficult time’ but that the players are focused on lifting the team out of their current situation.

The Nerazzurri are out of the Europa League and are currently ninth in Serie A after a run of four league games without a win, but the Brazilian international insists that the good times aren’t far away.

“We are going through a difficult time, but it happens in football,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I have been through the bad times when I was not focused enough on the field.

“But now everything is in place, I played well against Sampdoria in a role I don’t normally play in [Jesus played at left-back in a 1-0 defeat].

“I think [Xherdan] Shaqiri is one that can change a game and give us a lot.”

The ex-Internacional man claims that the team are looking forward to the upcoming Milan derby on 19 April, and that the team needs to go into every game to win if they are to get back to ‘where they belong’.

“It’s a unique game, one of Italy’s most important anytime it is played and we will try to bring home the victory.

“We have to win every game and deal with them as if it were a matter of life or death.

“I think the club is doing everything possible to bring Inter back to where it deserves to be next year.

“It’s now four years that Inter haven’t won a trophy and the club is not used to that.”

The 23-year-old has made 36 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season.
