Clubs within Italy may be primed to make an approach for Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, who has announced he will step down from his post at the end of the season.

The German giants hastily called a media conference on Wednesday as rumours regarding Klopp’s future gathered steam, and sides within Serie A could be watching the situation with serious interest.

Both of AC Milan and Juventus present serious possibilities for the 47-year-old, reportĀ The Daily Mirror.

The Bianconeri currently have Massimiliano Allegri under contract until 2016, but will be watching intently should Klopp announce an intention to take a sabbatical from football.

Meanwhile, the situation at the Rossoneri would give the German a rebuilding job to perform, similar to the one he excelled in producing at Dortmund.

It goes without saying that the Italian pair face ferocious interest from other European clubs, reportedly including Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid.

After taking over mid-table Dortmund in 2008, Klopp guided them to successive Bundesliga titles, as well as four other domestic honours.
