American singer Lady Gaga has bought cash-strapped club Parma.

The New York born songwriter, who has 75% Italian ancestry, celebrated her 29th birthday on March 28 and was on holiday in Italy as a gift, on which she decided to buy the Italian club who have been in lots of trouble after not paying players and staff.

Lady Gaga, who’s real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, was on a week’s holiday to a suburban villa in Parma in order to return to her Italian roots.

It has also been revealed that the singer had planned a performance at a local nightclub as a treat for the residents of the city, but a few hours before it was due to happen she found out that only a small section of tickets had been bought.

It was then revealed to her that local people had spent all their money on funding the historic Serie A club.

The singer decided that she had to save the club before it dissolved, so she supplied an initial investment of €8.6 million.

Although it was only sold for €1 in February this year, she wanted to supply an amount which would be enough to open the stadium for not only the current season, but for many years into the future.

The ‘Poker Face’ singer has already held talks with coach Roberto Donadoni and president Giampietro Manenti, and both parties have reportedly agreed to allow the sale.

Happy April Fools Day!

Fantastico! L’unica notizia degli ultimi dieci mesi sul mio Parma che mi ha fatto ridere. E comunque Lady Gaga gestirebbe il club molto meglio degli ultimi omuncoli che ci siamo ritrovati!!!
