Liverpool have apparently proposed a swap deal to Inter for young midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The 20-year-old has been in and out of the Nerazzurri team this season, and may be allowed to leave the club in the summer, despite only recently signing a new five-year deal.

And, according to the Daily Telegraph, Liverpool are ready to offer Lucas Leiva plus cash to entice Inter to part with Kovacic.

It is thought that Nerazzurri coach Roberto Mancini is a fan of Lucas and feels he will be more useful tactically than Kovacic.

While, Liverpooi coach Brendan Rodgers is keen to add the young Croatian to his squad.
