immobile dortmundCiro Immobile could be set to end his Bundesliga nightmare by switching to English Premier League giants Liverpool this Summer.

The ex-Torino striker moved to Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of last season but has struggled to adapt to life in Germany has failed to find the goal-scoring form that earned him a transfer away from the Granata and Serie A.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to off-load Mario Balotelli, who has flopped since joining the Anfield club from AC Milan, and to replace him another Italian international.

The report suggests that Liverpool have already made contact with Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc in order to sound out the details of a possible transfer.

Immobile has only managed three goals in 19 league appearances for his current employers after having hit the net 22 times the previous season in Italy.
