Manchester United have joined Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Roma’s Miralem Pjanic.

The 25-year-old has previously been linked with a move to the English Premier League, as Liverpool looked into signing the talented Bosnia and Herzegovina international, who only signed a new four-year contract with the Giallorossi last summer.

Although Manchester United have previously been linked with Pjanic’s teammate Kevin Strootman, coach Louis Van Gaal is concerned over the Dutchman’s fitness and according to the Daily Mirror, the veteran manager is prepared to splash out on the Bosnian, who Roma value in excess of €30 million.

Since joining the Giallorossi from Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyonnais for €11 million in 2011, Pjanic has gone from strength to strength and has established himself in the starting lineup, scoring 16 goals in 119 appearances for Roma.
