Sinisa Mihajlovic SampdoriaAfter failing to hold onto a 1-0 lead at the Stadio San Paolo, Sinisa Mihajlovic believes that his Sampdoria side lost to the better team in their 4-2 defeat to Napoli on Sunday.

A brace from Gonzalo Higuain and a handful of errors by the Blucerchiati gifted the home side a crucial three points in the race for a top spot in the Serie A standings.

“Napoli are strong, and when they lead by three goals we could no longer create a positive result,” said Mihajlovic to Sky Sport Italia.

“They played better than us, and we saw the difference. Luckily we have Wednesday’s game that becomes decisive, we’ll recover and try to win.”

The coach also gave a view on a potential injury to his star striker Eder before half-time.

“I do not know yet, we will have to scan it,” he said.

“He has knee pain, I won’t comment as I do not want to bring bad luck.”
