Fiorentina’s Alberto Aquilani could move to MLS at the end of the current season when his Viola contract expires, according to his agent.

The 30-year-old has struggled to maintain hi form over the course of the current season, and has started just 13 Serie A games. Although his agent has admitted that Aquilani has not spoken to anyone about his client, a move to MLS could be possible.

“He’s a player with a great record. I haven’t spoken to anyone,” Andrea D’Amico told Talksport.

“but I’m sure we’ll get a satisfactory outcome, a high-level project, whether that’s in Italy or abroad.

“MLS, where [Sebastian] Giovinco is now playing, will soon become an important league with all the multimedia communication which we have neglected.”

The former Roma man has been with Fiorentina since his unsuccessful Liverpool spell ended in 2012, after Aquilani had spent time on loan at both Juventus and AC Milan.
