Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella believes the risks the club has taken have been proven right and paid off.
The Viola take on relegation threatened Cagliari on Sunday, looking to extend their five point-gap over seventh-placed Torino and cement their chances of providing European football for 2015/16.
“We believe in ourselves, the club and [owner] Andrea Della Valle have had the courage to start again after hitting rock bottom and being reborn after their worst moment,” the tactician told the press.
“To bring in a young, inexperienced coach like me, trying to get results through a beautiful game, we have taken risks but these have been proved right.”
The Europa League semi-finalists have lost their last two matches in Serie A, being defeated 1-0 in Monday’s match with Hellas Verona, now have the game with the Rossoblu to reignite their league form.
“Fiorentina is the team of Florence, a city of culture and beauty. I am proud to be coach of this team that tries to bring values from society onto the field.”
