Aurelio De LaurentiisNapoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will offer his squad a hefty bonus if they achieve Champions League qualification for next season.

Should the Partenopei win this year’s Europa League a bonus of €4 million will be divided between the team, but now it also looks likely that the same incentive will be offered for Champions League qualification via Serie A.

Calcio e Finanza report that if Rafa Benitez’s side finish second in the league guaranteeing Champions League football for next season then a bonus of €3 million will be split between the squad, and if they finish third this will be deferred until after the qualifying rounds should they make it to the group stage.

The race for Champions League qualification is set to go the wire with just seven points currently separating Roma in second place from Fiorentina in sixth, and the Vesuviani aren’t the only team to incentivize their players as clubs chase the estimated €40 million windfall gained by qualifying.

Lazio, who currently occupy that important third place, will have just over €2 million, about €100,000 for each player, split between the team from president Claudio Lotito if the Biancocelesti can qualify for Europe’s premier club competition for the first time since 2007-08.
