Napoli coach Rafael Benitez has not yet decided on whether he will remain in charge of the Partenopei next season or not.
The 55-year-old Spaniard is still reportedly in negotiations with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis over his current contract, which expires at the end of this season.
Accroding to Tuttosport, Benitez would like for De Laurentiis to improve the current squad in order to challenge consistently for trophies and that the president modify the way the club is run.
De Laurentiis has yet to comment on the situation.
Napoli have had a rather disappointing season by the club’s standards in Serie A, with the Partenopei sitting seven points off third-placed Roma.
However, they should reach the Europa League semi finals with Benitez having masterminded an impressive 4-1 win against Wolfsburg in Germany. Winning the Europa League would see Napoli compete in the Champions League next year.
