Juventus director Pavel Nedved stated his club will not take their quarter-final Champions League opponent lightly as the Bianconeri host the first leg at Juventus Stadium against Monaco in two weeks.

The French club overcame the odds in reaching the final eight for the first time in 11 years, besting heavily favoured Arsenal by virtue of the away goals rule.

“We cannot let down our guard and underestimate Monaco. They really impressed me against Arsenal and are more dangerous on the road than they are at home,” Nedved said in an interview with El Mundo Deportivo.

For all their recent domestic accomplishments, Juventus are keen on Champions League success as the Bianconeri have not advanced to the semi-finals since losing to AC Milan on penalties in the 2003 final and must overcome the Monaco challenge without talisman midfielder Paul Pogba.

“We will miss him in a lot but we are not complaining. We have a big squad that can make up for his absence,” Nedved admitted.
