Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti thanked the Rossoblu fans for the support they have shown him after finally scoring his first goal for the club in their 2-0 victory over Parma on Wednesday.

The Grifone continued their charge for a place in Europe for next season with the win thanks to goals from Iago Falque and Pavoletti, and the Italian praised the home supporters after finally getting his name on the scoresheet after a January move from Sassuolo.

“After the defeat against Chievo we wanted to get back to fighting,” he told Mediaset Premium after the match.

“My goal? The Genoa supporters have helped me a lot. I missed an incredible chance but then I redeemed myself.”

“We train hard and we are fighting to reach our target of Europe. We will try until the end, we are a great group,” he continued while speaking to Sky Sport Italia.

“We knew that Parma would not give up. We continued to play, luckily I scored and I made up for the mistake I made in the first half.

“I train well and I always look to make the most of my chances. At this time I have done so.”
