Torino forward Fabio Quagliarella bemoaned his side’s inability to capitalise on chances during a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo in Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

Two penalties either side of half time saw the Granata walk away from the Mapei Stadium with a single point, as Quagliarella cancelled out Domenico Berardi’s spot kick with his own, scoring his 12th goal in Serie A this season.

The Italian forward is happy with the performance, though regrets wasted chances during the game which cost his team two vital points in their bid for European qualification.

“This is a missed opportunity to win and get closer to Europe,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Given the amount of opportunities we had we should have won. We deserved to.

“However the game went well and there are still seven games left in order to reach European spots.”

Looking to focus on the matches ahead, the former Juventus man spoke of his desire to score against his previous club in the Derby di Torino.

“Hopefully it will be a good game.

“It will be a special game for me, I played at Juventus for four years, but that doesn’t mean I’ll treat it differently to others.

“I hope to get a goal on Sunday.”
